Choosing childcare begins with understanding what your family truly needs as there’s no one-size-fits-all option. Childcare programs range from larger centres to smaller dayhomes in a family setting.

We are a Government of Alberta licensed Family Dayhome Agency supporting safe, high-quality childcare in approved dayhomes. We make things easier for both families and educators.

You gain access to approved, safety-checked dayhomes, help with subsidy and grants, and ongoing agency support to ensure consistent quality care.

All Rose & Velvet dayhomes meet Provincial standards and are regularly monitored by qualified Dayhome Consultants. Every dayhome receives consistent oversight, and provincial Licensing completes annual visits on our dayhomes.

Our Dayhome Educators are recognized as childcare professionals. They receive ongoing support from our Consultants and participate in regular training and professional development, with a minimum of four sessions each year.

They offer smaller group sizes, up to six children with strict age ratios and create a warm, safe, and nurturing environment.

Families also benefit from:

• Extended hours and Weekend Care

• Annual income tax receipts

Kindly complete the following steps prior to registering for child care:

• Inquire with the Agency by completing the Childcare Inquiry Form

• Once we have received your inquiry we will provide you with a list of potential Educators and you can set up interviews with the Educator(s) you choose.

• Once you have selected your Educator you will sign an agreement form that confirms fees, hours and days between you and the Educator

• Then contact the Agency Office directly by telephone or email to fill out the Registration Forms

• You will then receive an Agency Registration Package and a Parent Handbook. Payment arrangements will also be made at this time.

Subsidy is a government-funded program that helps eligible families reduce the cost of childcare when their child attends a Family Day Home overseen by a licensed agency.

Please choose a dayhome to register with before applying for subsidy.

After choosing to register with one of our Dayhomes, please contact our office before applying for subsidy to receive your “Online Conditional Approval Page,” which allows an immediate reduction in childcare fees. Without this page, full fees must be paid until government confirmation is received, which can take 4–6 weeks.

Subsidy Information:

• Eligible families can apply for child care subsidies for children aged 0 to Grade 6 who are enrolled in a Family Day Home program overseen by a licensed agency.

• Subsidy rates vary depending on the child’s age, family income, program type, and the number of hours attended each month.

Types of subsidy include:

1. Subsidy or children 0 to kindergarten-age (in kindergarten and also attending child care during regular school hours)

2. Preschool subsidy for children enrolled in a licensed preschool program
   

3. Subsidy for children in kindergarten to grade 6 enrolled in a licensed program outside of regular school hours

4. Extended hours subsidy for children who require care outside regular hours

Childcare fees are to be paid on the first of each month before care is given.

Methods of payment are – cash, cheque, money order, online bill payment or E-transfer.
